Filling Station Magazine is always looking for quality, innovative, original writing. We do not accept submissions that are racist, misogynist and/or homophobic. We strongly encourage all submissions to be directed to the correct editor’s email address - please select from the options in the Submission Menu. All submissions should include a short bio, mailing address, and email address.

Filling Station Magazine is published 3 times annually. Please allow up to four months for reply. Submitters accepted for publication enjoy a free subscription of Filling Station pending completion and return to the Managing Editor of a Contributor Contract to be given to the submitter by their respective editor.

- Short Fiction: Submit up to 2 stories of any length This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Preferred length for short fiction is between 1-10 pages.
- Non-Fiction: Submit up to 5 pieces at a time This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Non-Fiction submissions can be academic, creative, or both, and could include creative non-fiction, reviews, interviews, articles, etc.
- Fine Art: Images can be submitted on CD in high resolution TIFF, JPEG, EPS, or PSD format, or emailed in low resolution This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . High resolution may be requested if accepted. Unaccepted material sent by post will not be returned. Our magazine is printed in black and white, but a colour version of the art will be made available on our website whenever possible.
Reply Policy: Unsuccessful submissions will receive notice as long as SASE or email address is included.
Simultaneous Submissions: If managed well by the author, and if the author is well-organized, simultaneous submissions are acceptable. If any work is submitted to another magazine simultaneously and accepted elsewhere, Filling Station must be informed that the piece is being withdrawn. In turn, if accepted by Filling Station, you must withdraw your material from any other publications it was submitted to. If you are not a very organized individual, then we discourage you from submitting to publications simultaneously as it can create a headache for you and the publications you are dealing with.
Rights: Filling Station reserves First North American Serial Rights. Filling Station always appreciates a mention of publication in our magazine in any books published that contain poems that appeared previously in Filling Station.Questions? Please email Managing Editor Laurie Fuhr.
